We are pleased to announce that Speech Therapy Cambodia’s cooperating partner–the Cambodian organization SSTC–has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Cambodian Ministry of Health. Collaboration with the Ministry of Health allows us to strengthen our ties with the Cambodian government and ensures that our programs align with national priorities and health systems.
This final and official contract signing was a long time coming (a year and a half), and marks a very important moment in SSTC’s history. We would like to give special thanks to Mr. Kol Hero at the Ministry of Health and Mr. Suon Sokhom at Calmette Hospital for their efforts in support of this initiative.
This would not have been possible without the dedication, persistence, and patience of the incredible staff of SSTC–Veasna, Dalin, Paula, and Annie. They have worked tirelessly with Cambodian Ministries and with hospital administrations and staff to establish a model program to benefit the people of Cambodia. We are that much closer to the day when the profession of speech therapy in Cambodia can become a reality.
