On behalf of STC and SSTC, we would like to thank Mrs. Khan Dalin, our interpreter and translator, for her valuable contributions to our organisation and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her career.
Dalin joined the SSTC team in January 2020 as lead interpreter/translator and communications officer. She has been responsible for translating written documents and facilitating spoken communication between foreign staff/volunteers and Cambodian clinicians, patients, and families. She worked closely with Annie Johnson to develop bilingual versions of the materials for the new university course. In addition, as Communications Officer Dalin supported the team with the creation and publishing of social media communications.
The skills, vocabulary, and knowledge required to interpret/translate English-Khmer for the Speech-Language Pathology field are rare and highly specialized. With her mixture of language skills and education in Community and Public Health, Dalin was perfectly suited to provide this critical service to our organization.
Dalin’s dedication and creativity were an inspiration for us all. We are grateful for her hard work, commitment, and team spirit. We will miss her, and we are sure that she will be successful in her future career.
